Banza Church Ruins

The Banza Church Ruins, located at the oldest poblacion of Butuan City, Philippines is the oldest ruin of a stone church in the entire island of Mindanao. The church was built in 1625 by the Recollect friars but was reduced to ashes in 1753 by Moro pirates. What was left of the church is part of the bell tower, enveloped by a balete (banyan) tree.
