Balobok Rock Shelter
This is found in the town of Bongao in Tawi-Tawi. It is considered as one of the most important archaeological sites in the Philippines.
Believed to be the rock shelter of pre-historic men of Southeast Asia, ancient artifacts like flake tools, polished stones, earthenware shards, bone tools among others and some animal remains were found here.
These remains and artifacts were dated by C-14 to be around 8,810 to 5,190 years ago. These artifacts are now housed at the National Museum of the Philippines in Manila.
This tourist spot is found in Barangay Lakit-Lakit Bogao, Tawi-Tawi
